The Rock to Star in Reality Show

World Wrestling Entertainment or WWE superstar Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is officially making his foray into television after months of speculation regarding his involvement in a reality series coming true when it was announced that the Hollywood star will play the role of a mentor in a new show with the working title ‘The Hero’. TNT has officially given green light to the new reality show that will feature The Rock in the role of a mentor where ten contestants will be pushed to the absolute limits of their physical and mental fitness.

The contenders who take part in the show will live in a house and take part in a series of missions that will not only test their physical fitness and mental resolve but also their morality. The network, according to reports, has ordered for eight episodes tentatively with The Rock playing the role of host, mentor as well as motivator. The wrestling superstar will also be one of the producers of the show, along with his business partner and former wife Dany Garcia and Ben Silverman.

And speaking about his move to the small screen, The Rock stated that both he and Dany are extremely excited at the prospect of their first ever foray into TV production. He added that The Hero is something that finds him connecting with it in all possible levels when it comes to challenging oneself and making those better people where they make the right choices by growing from the wrong choices that they have made.

The Hero is scheduled to be aired on television in early 2013, which will be one of the busiest years for The Rock with his Wrestle Mania participation all but confirmed and three movies ready to be released as well, including GI Joe: Retaliation and Fast Six.
